Why book a Mousehole holiday cottage?
Just three miles west of Penzance, and beyond Newlyn the fishing port bringing in fresh fish daily, Mousehole – pronounced “mowsul” – is home to a small sandy beach and winsome harbour, ideal for a peaceful break. A perfect year-round destination, Mousehole has kept its old-fashioned charm but alongside the ice-cream shop and the Ship Inn, it now has two excellent food provisioners, No1 Deli and Stores and Hole Foods Deli and Restaurant, and two delicious restaurants 2 Fore Street and The Old Coastguard.
An easy walk into Mousehole
Don’t forget to visit The Rock Pool Cafe along the seafront. Perched on the rocks above the sea pool in Mousehole, there’s no better place to spend a while sipping coffee with a homemade brownie or sandwich and soaking up the view – look out for the resident seal below bobbing in the waves. In December the Christmas lights transform the harbour into a very charming scene for the wintry season, illuminating the village and one of Cornwall’s oldest piers where even the water in the harbour becomes home to a lit-up Loch Ness monster…
