Book a holiday cottage in Cornwall

Our separate Cornish cottage overlooking the sea, sleeps 4 and can be rented by the week with the main house or on its own . Open all year round, it is available for 3 days or more during low season. The cottage has  a large open-plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen, with a wood-burning stove and free Wifi throughout. Upstairs there is a bathroom and two double bedrooms (one with a balcony). The bed in Bedroom 1 is 6ft wide and the beds in both rooms can be separated into twins. All rooms look over the sea.

Prepare to be spellbound by the panoramic views across the seas of Mounts Bay to The Lizard. The cottage is set above the charming village of Mousehole and above the quiet coastal road with views across the sea of the sun rising over the horizon and the moon casting its lighted path across the water on a clear night. Mousehole is an easy four-minute walk either down the hill or along a mossy stream  Uphill is a little more vigorous so good exercise.

Why book a Mousehole holiday cottage?

Just three miles west of Penzance, and beyond Newlyn the fishing port bringing in fresh fish daily, Mousehole - pronounced “mowsul” - is home to a small sandy beach and winsome harbour, ideal for a peaceful break. A perfect year-round destination, Mousehole has kept its old-fashioned charm but alongside the ice-cream shop and the Ship Inn, it now has two excellent food provisioners, No1 Deli and Stores and Hole Foods Deli and Restaurant, and two delicious restaurants 2 Fore Street and The Old Coastguard.

Don't forget to visit The Rock Pool Cafe along the seafront. Perched on the rocks above the sea pool in Mousehole, there's no better place to spend a while sipping coffee with a home-made brownie or sandwich and soaking up the view - look out for the resident seal below bobbing in the waves. In December the Christmas lights transform the harbour into a very charming scene for the wintry season, illuminating the village and one of Cornwall’s oldest piers where even the water in the harbour becomes home to a lit-up Loch Ness monster...

Perfectly located to explore West Cornwall

Mousehole is perfectly located within West Cornwall, the Penwith peninsula, renowned for its stunning and majestic coastline and wild, beautiful coast path walks. The island fortress of St Michael’s Mount, Porthcurno beach and the Logan Rock, the sands at Sennen, quieter Porth Chapel and Portheras, Porthgwarra with its tunnel, the long sandy beach at Gwithian, are all within driving distance along this outstanding coastline. The Minack Theatre, cut into the cliffside is a short drive with its open-air performances all year round. There are gardens nearby to visit, Trengwainton, Trewidden, Chygurno, Tremenheere, and further afield The Eden Project. If you like plants there is a wonderful nursery Hardy's Exotic Plants on the A30. And the coast path just along on the corner, leads you along to Lamorna and beyond. We will send you info and tips on what to do and where to go. There are ancient sites to be visited, the stone circle of The Merry Maidens, the Men-an-Thol, the Madron well and holy Chapel. Take a boat trip in The Mermaid or Shearwater 11 and look out for marine life, porpoises, basking sharks and seals. and just enjoy the land from the sea. Cornwall has so much to offer and explore.
