Perched on a hilltop just outside the pretty fishing village of Mousehole, and with breathtaking sea views, Carn Du is one of the most romantic houses in Cornwall. It is astonishingly light and airy with lots of space, big windows, five bedrooms, all of which look over the sea. The cottage, which can be rented with the house or separately, has a further two bedrooms, each offering similarly spectacular views. There are wonderful beaches and coves close by and excellent restaurants in Mousehole – which Dylan Thomas called “the loveliest village in England” – and Penzance. A boat is available by arrangement if you want to explore the coast or, perhaps, roam further afield to the Scilly Isles.
